Welterweight tournament, 8 seeded fighters, single elimination, ?

Ok, if you were the supreme ruler of the universe, and wanted to force a tournament to see who is the best welter in the world, who would you seed at slot 1, 2, and so forth. Toss in the “retired” Mayweather and Manny Pacquiou into the mix as well any other you feel is deserving of the fantasy welterweight tournament.

Wouldn’t it be the most fantastic series of fights in boxing history?

Betting And Winning Boxing Sport Bets

Bayrd Macrae asked:

You can make sport bets on different sporting events online, but nothing comes close to the excitement of putting your money on a price fighter. Boxing is a sweet science, and betting on it can be very complicated. But the rewards are great if you win. So you have to very keen with your bets to win. Read on to learn more.

Study The Boxers

Research plays a major role in any sports bet that you make. Your betting outcomes can be fairly attributed to the amount of information that you have. If you want winning sport bets in boxing, you have to study the previous matches of both boxers. You have to consider their training and levels of motivation prior to the fight, or if the boxer is moving up or moving down in weight. The skill of the trainer is also a major factor in determining the outcome of a fight. These and many other factors should be the basis for your sport bets.

Window Shop For The Best Odds

When you have already decided on the fighter to place your bets on. It is now time to ask around for the best odds and money lines. Put your sport bets on the odds that would earn you the most money. If you can’t get information by asking around those who are directly involved in the fights, you can go to gambling sites for tips.

Money Lines 101

There are betting rules in every sport. In boxing, money lines are one of many rules that you have to take note of. Simply, money lines are determined by the match records of the two fighters and the wager amount. Let’s say that in a super featherweight championship fight, the money line is -200 to win $50. This means that if you want to put your money on the heavily-favored fighter, the champion in this case, you have to bet $200. If you are rooting for the underdog, you will have to make a $50 bet. If he wins, you get $200!

However, profits tend to be less in one-sided matches like these because of the many bets that are placed on the odds-on favorite. But if the odds of both boxers are stacked evenly, the betting can be very exciting and intense.

Hit Two Birds With One Bet

In gambling parlance, a parlay is when you make two bets in one. When you bet in boxing, you can win more money by betting on the winner of the fight and how the fight was won. If you placed your bets wisely, you will really win more money. Because boxing fights are so dynamic, you have to see if betting in parlay can rake in the profits or not. Sometimes, it is best to stick with the odds and not push your luck.

Because of the many factors affecting the outcome of boxing matches, winning in boxing bets can be very fulfilling and lucrative. So if you are thinking about making sport bets, place your money on boxing.

Will there every be an undisputed MMA champion?

Monday, June 22nd, 2009
jason r asked:

MMA would be so much better if all the fighters were free to fight whomever they wanted. Dana White deserves credit for building the sport up to what it is now, but why doesn’t he nor anyone else realize that the sport is being sheltered? In boxing you have the WBC, WBO, IBF and the WBA, but all of those associations let fighters fight one another. The presidents and gurus of the MMA organizations need to have a sit-down and get something together. Until then pound for pound lists and best lightweight, best welterweight lists are stupid.
